GBHorror2017: Why Bloodborne Is A Masterpiece Horror-Themed Game

Welcome to another Halloween post! We are right at the halting end of the Halloween year, and now I get to write about something that I’ve been waiting to do for a long time. This is a game that was created by the company “From Software”, famously known for the Dark Souls series, and is an exclusive on the Playstation 4. Bloodborne is one of my all time favorite games, easily top ten, and there are many reasons why I love this game so much. Fortunately a lot of my love can be neatly explained in this Halloween related post! So let me explain a number of reasons why I think this game, while not an exact horror game, is an excellent horror-themed game… Read the rest of this entry
GBHorror2017: Channel Zero-Candle Cove: My Impression

Welcome to another GBHorror thing! And surprise! Another impression post, where I sort of give a kind of-not-really review without numbers or scores. This time we will be looking at the first season of a show that came out last year: Channel Zero. This show tells a different story each season, but these stories all seem to be based on infamous creepypasta tales. The first season tells the tale of Candle Cove, which is easily one of the more compelling stories to be told. So let us take a look at the television version of this story and let’s see how well they did… Read the rest of this entry
GBHorror2017: Tom And Taylor Marathon The SAW Films: Our Impressions

Welcome back to another GBHorror2017 post, today we have a pretty big one. Sort of to celebrate the release of the latest entry in the Saw franchise (titled “Jigsaw”), me and our good friend Taylor have done a behind the scenes marathon of all the Saw movies. It took us some time, considering there were seven movies to watch, but we managed to come out strong! So this will be a little different than most impressions posts, I will be analyzing every single film on its own merit, and I will be bringing up both my own impressions as well as Taylor’s. This will be a long one, so let there be no time to waste, on with the post! Read the rest of this entry
GBHorror2017: The Evil Within 2: Early Impressions

Welcome back to another Halloween post! And yet another impression, which is kind of a not-so-much of a review without numbers or scores. This time we will be looking at a very recent game that came out: The Evil Within 2. Now this isn’t a complete impression since I have yet to finish this game, so this is just an early look at what I so far think of the game in both its introduction and changes. I will also give a little insight of my opinion on the original game as well. Anyways, on with the impression, just keep in mind that there will be some spoilers… Read the rest of this entry
GBHorror2017: Our Own Guilty Pleasure Horror Films

Welcome to another post! This time we will be looking at our very own guilty pleasure horror films! What do I mean by that? basically it’s our own favorite films, these being horror themed for the holiday, that are not technically good. But for whatever reason we enjoy them no matter what, hence a guilty pleasure. Again, we will be looking at the four of us to see what our guilty pleasure horror films might be. GBHorror2017: Lore [Amazon Series]: My Impression

Welcome back to another post everyone! And welcome back to another impressions post, basically a review without a score. This time we’ll be looking at the recently released Lore show. For those who may not know, Lore was made by a man named Aaron Mahnke who originally started out Lore as a Podcast series, the series brings about horror themed tales and events but grounds it to reality by explaining the real life scenarios that helped to shape our modern understandings, he represents how our tales of werewolves and vampires originally came about to put it in simpler terms. The series has now become a television series exclusive to Amazon, which came out on October 13th of this month. So I’ll be giving my impression of the show and please let me know if you agree. GBHorror2017: Top 10 Scariest And Unique Horror Games

Welcome back to another GBHorror2017 post! I think everyone was expecting a post like this eventually. Horror games are what I live for, they throw into scary situations that, while I prefer not to experience them in real life, are fun and enjoyable for the most part. Now this list will be a little different. So I am not a fan of reviews that essentially put labels on films or games, sometimes even books or soundtracks. This means that I hate the star or number rating scores. However, this does have number scores but just for the fun of it. I do not do these scores to concrete the games in a ranking or whatever, this list isn’t even in order of least to best. The scores are just a general idea of the level of joy some people may have, since unlike myself most people actually like number scores. You could say int this list, for example, my level of joy will always be appreciated with a really good game that is, by label standards, above a 30 out of 40. Also keep in mind that this is for both scary and unique horror games, which means there will be an odd variety. Anyways, have fun! Read the rest of this entry
GBHorror2017: What Scares Sherman? [4/4]

Hello, and welcome to the final post in this mini post series of GBHorro2017! Our final specimen for this mini thing is our very own Sherman. He is quite an interesting fellow, arguably more interesting than Taylor, and he is notorious for questioning and favoring oddities. Unfortunately to find out his true fears we’ll have to dig deep. Just remember that this is merely for fun and entertaining, especially this post, so please don’t take this seriously and please don’t be offended! Alright, onwards then… Read the rest of this entry
