The yesterday from CoroCoro reveals is a bit more confusion among other things. While it’s awesome to hear the news about more Mega evolutions like Sceptile, Gamefreak decided to hurt our gaming minds even more with the complicated Groudon and Kyogre forms, which are essentially “Devolutions” that revert them back into their prehistoric states.

So what the heck does this mean for the plot in these new remakes? How does this affect the future of Pocket Monsters?

PRIMAL, PREHISTORIC, AND PRIMEVAL REGRESSION

For those who know the lore behind Groudon and Kyogre within the games and stuff, they are essentially the “creators” of the Land and Sea. Ancient Legends who stay dormant within secluded Underground magma or Sea trench. They are creatures who fiercely battle each other once they are awakened, Which forces the legendary Rayquaza to descend from high above and end the fight(s) peacefully.

These are one of the more interesting Legendaries among the many we know, possibly the most aggressive we know of too. The fact that they are said to be technically called Primal/Prehistoric/Primeval Groudon and Primal/Prehistoric/Primeval Kyogre would suggest that these new evolution-ish methods would revert them to their supposed forms from when they were very first created (possibly by Palkia frome what this tells us). It could also be their hibernation forms in a sense since being alseep while also possibly keeping control of the land and sea can have some sort of effect on you, one would assume.  If this is the case then…

DEVOLUTION RAYQUAZA???

Knowing that Rayquaza is pretty much a watcher among these two beastly Pokemon, he is definitely as old or older than them. Would this mean that he has some sort of Devolution state as well?

His involvement within the third generation story was a very big deal, especially in Emerald version, and he potentially stays dormant in the skies since there’s nothing to do while the other two sleep.

WHAT ABOUT DEVOLUTIONS FOR OTHER LEGENDS???

Many legendary Pokemon have been around for a long long time, Freaking Arceus is pretty much a God Pokemon and whatnot! Lugia is an ancient creature who stays in the water for long periods of time, Dialga and Palkia are space voyagers and time travelers! Celebi travels time! And what about love for Ho-oh!? If Groudon and Kyogre get their own devolutions because their ancient, why not the other ancients???

I’M OVER-THINKING IT!

Pokemon, I’m a fan but it hurts my head every time Gamefreak changes the game up. The Pokemon fandom is openly filled with people that theorize and question every little aspect, I’m sure people have come up with lots of cooler theories. Oh well, just wanted to add in my two cents to this little post.

Super Update!: Turns out these new forms are officially called “Primal Forms”. These forms bring the particular Pokemon back to their ancient forms many years ago. Groudon officially becomes a Ground/Fire typing, further details about abilities and stuff are currently unknown. Also, Mega Sableye is a thing now!
